Malaysia’s New Economic Policy inviting Offshore Investment
Tuesday, July 27th, 2010 by DeltaQuestThe latest Economic Policy is intended to attract a far greater level of business in Malaysia, with the 10th Malaysia Plan highlighting a host of improvements to the area.
The Deputy Prime Minister has appealed to South Korea directly, as well as other offshore investors to seriously contemplate investing in Malaysia. With Malaysia’s major structural makeover, and its commitment to ensuring a constant economic growth period, the Deputy Prime Minister has insisted the future is bright for the economy over the next 10 years.
Malaysia is known for having a productive electronics industry, but the DPM has stressed to all firms and investors to not be scared to diversify their production or services. Business with Korea has notably seen a massive improvement over the last couple years, where high percentage increases have seen levels in production/manufacturing in Malaysia more than double in size from Korean investment.
Much hope has been placed on offshore investment in Malaysia, and the new Economic Policy should further boost foreign investment figures in the coming years.
